PROJECT INFORMATION:

• This Project has been funded with support from the European Commission
• Partners:
  • 6 rural communities:
    •  Portugal, Ireland, United Kingdom, Romania, Poland and Lithuania
  • 3 partners providing theoretical and IT support throughout the Project:
    • Germany, Cyprus and Finland
• Main strategic goal:
  • The NetBox Project aims “to pilot and validate a model for educationally self-sufficient rural communities where traditional consumers of educational services can become producers of educational services and content”.

• As a registered member of the local community learning social network, you have the possibility to do many individual and shared activities: News (create, share and view local news and updates); Social (connect with neighbors online and build your social network); Directory (access the directory of local businesses and services); Knowledge (create or take a course or training programme offered by people in your local community); and Market (Exchange skills and assets through the NetBox Market).

• Target group:
  • Residents, services providers and businesses of European rural communities. In Portugal, the Project was implemented within the parish council of São Vicente do Paúl e Vale de Figueira.
